1. It’s the listening environment. If I’m listening on the bus, the noise floor is so high (even with shure noise-isolating earphones) that it hardly matters. 2. The quality of commodity DACs has improved tremendously. Even with Apple earbuds, a modern iPhone sounds way better than an original iPod. So let’s not blame it all on the earbuds. 20korgOn twitter.com
