        botimer Hmm…I don’t have the recording experience (or maybe even the ear, who knows!) to say to use one large-diaphragm condenser over another depending on the context.

      botimer My intuition is that unless you have a room with impeccable acoustic treatment, the room makes a way bigger difference than the mic. It also totally depends what you’re doing. If you’re recording a lot of different vocalists, then something like this could make sense.

    botimer Otoh, if you’re just recording yourself, find what sounds good for you and save a bunch of money. And if you’re recording guitar amp cabinets, a dynamic is probably the way to go.
