allspiritseve Hydrocarbon fuels are amazing. Energy dense, easy to store, fairly easy to transport. The problem is where it comes from and where it goes. We should use fusion (local or on the sun) to react CO2 out of the atmosphere and turn it back into fuel. Close the carbon cycle.
