Several months ago I got a pull request on a launch-and-forget project I did in 2018 (you know the one, Chanuka was early). It gets rid of a couple dependencies I accidentally left in there (good), does some opinionated linting (fine, I guess), and adds a build tool (parcel).

I’m not sure whether to accept it. For something as simple as a one-page toy app, needing a build tool feels very much overkill. As I’ve said here before, I’m a simple man who prefers static sites that can just run in a browser unless there’s good reason to complicate things.

I’m inclined not to accept the PR, but I feel badly because this person put time into it and, like I said, it does make some good fixes. I guess awkward social interactions are a risk of open-sourcing something, but I’m open to advice from all y’all on Twitter.
